AAPS provides professional development (PD) opportunities to its members
which are planned by the Professional Development Committee. We offer a variety of topics
which fall generally into the categories of: Professional Skills,
Personal Development and General Interest. Formats range from intensive
small group seminars to large audience presentations depending upon
the content.
This group of volunteers is responsible for assessing the learning needs
of AAPS members and planning PD events to respond to those needs.
If you are interested in joining this committee please contact us.
For details on past and upcoming events/workshops please see our Professional Development blog.
"...the University and the Association of Administrative and
Professional Staff (AAPS) recognize the value of a Management and
Professional (M&P) group that is fully engaged, current in
their field of expertise, curious to learn, and committed to sharing
and applying their experience within the UBC community."
AAPS & UBC have agreed to increase the annual allotment of PD funds under
Letter of Agreement #4
from $400 per year to $750 per year retroactive to July 1, 2008.
