Collective Bargaining News

April 16, 2014

Preparations are already well underway for the 2014 round of collective bargaining expected to begin in late May. AAPS is the legal bargaining agent for management and professional staff at UBC and the current Collective Agreement between AAPS and UBC expires June 30, 2014. The Collective Agreement between AAPS and UBC sets the terms and conditions of employment for management and professional staff at UBC. The Collective Agreement determines wage levels, severance obligations, sick leave, and a variety of other non-monetary rights and responsibilities.

AAPS encourages members to be involved in the collective bargaining process. You can contribute your priorities for the 2014 round of collective bargaining by filling out this form by March 15, 2014. Please note, we are only collecting names and emails to ensure respondents are members of AAPS and your identity will remain confidential.

Other ways to get involved include participating in an in-person bargaining roundtable or responding to the soon-to-be released Member Workplace Experience Survey.

AAPS Members have been sent an email from the market research firm Ipsos Reid. This email contains a unique link to the online 2014 Workplace Engagement Survey for AAPS Members.

At the end of the survey you will be invited to enter a draw for one of three $100.00 electronic gift certificates from Apple, iTunes, or Amazon.ca.

We encourage all members to make the time to complete this important survey. The results will  inform the ongoing strategic work of the AAPS Board to improve the workplace experience for all AAPS members.
